NOUVEM | Software for the Food, Meat, Poultry & Fish Processing Industries & Food Service

Consumers are now demanding sustainable products…

Consumers around the world care about sustainability, and not just since Covid-19 began to dominate our lives. More interestingly, consumers appear to be willing to pay a premium price for it. According to the PwC report, Retail and Consumer Report for 2019, 41% of Irish consumers are prepared to pay a premium for sustainable products. Accenture compiled a similar report in 2019 and of 6,000 consumers in 11 countries across North America, Europe and Asia, found that while consumers remain primarily focused on quality and price, 83% believe it’s important or extremely important for companies to design products that are meant to be reused or recycled. Nearly three-quarters (72%) of respondents said they’re currently buying more environmentally friendly products than they were five years ago, and 81% said they expect to buy more over the next five years.

How NOUVEM is helping customers by measuring efficiencies, increasing yields, reducing waste…

At NOUVEM we are seeing evidence of this same trend. Our customers, a full range of food and meat processors and food service providers, are responding to these trends not only to meet consumer demands but also to ensure they are building sustainable, ethical businesses – businesses that work with their local communities, that their employees are proud of and that they can be proud of. It seems that sustainability and efficiency are more than buzz words – in fact, they seem to be the foundations that businesses are being built on. At NOUVEM we can play our part. We are learning from our customers every day how to help measure efficiency, how to increase yield, how to better manage ageing of perishable products and how to efficiently deliver our services, minimising carbon footprint.

Over the past two years we have been refining our implementation methodologies to allow us to implement our solutions remotely. We recently delivered our first Food Processing Software Solution to a company in Wales where we implemented 100% remotely. Nobody from our company has been to the site! Prior to this we have implemented several sites where travel was kept to a minimum. Just like our own customers are experiencing, there were unexpected benefits. One major benefit was that the solution required far fewer changes post go-live than would normally be the case. Because the client was so hands on from early in the project, they had a far greater understanding of the solution and were able to tune and test the solution to a higher standard. This led to quicker process innovation and greater efficiency for both NOUVEM and our customer.

We see NOUVEM at the cutting edge of the global war on waste. We have positioned NOUVEM Food Processing Software as the perfect tool to help food producers do your bit. Our customers manufacture and /or distribute donuts, burgers, cooked ham, sausages, lifestyle nutrition products, steaks, desserts, whole and portioned fish, primal cuts and just about any variation of food you can imagine. Our customers are using our products to minimise food waste due to shelf life, manage real time in stock efficiently, control and minimise waste during the production process, maximise production yield by capturing real time information and comparing it to standards and historical information. Our solutions let our customers manage supply chains, ensuring that products are purchased from approved suppliers, spot trends by providing analytics and reporting, capture almost any data from the factory floor so real time observations are not lost and continuous improvement practices such as lean six sigma can thrive. At NOUVEM we believe we are perfectly positioned to help drive sustainability, traceability, and productivity, and we take our job seriously.
